Peer Mentoring Guides

The twin Peer Mentoring Guides are resources that outline the principles and guidelines for coordinating Peer Mentoring activities in the family support sector. There is one guide for family support practitioners and one for family support volunteers.

Perspectives vol. 3 Spring 2010

Perspectives Vol.3, Spring 2010 focuses on welcoming immigrant families into our communities and recognizing the challenges that family resource programs face in answering the needs of newcomer families.

Lessons Learned reports: Lessons Learned offers insights into how family resource centres across Canada have successfully adapted their programs to reflect diversity in their communities. More Lessons Learned consolidates information about how to create more welcoming family resource programs for new immigrant families and documents the barriers and challenges to meeting the needs of newcomer families.

Multilingual Parent Resource Sheets

Multilingual Parenting Info: 10 of FRP Canada's parent resource sheets which offer information useful to parents. Topics include active life, family life, guiding children's behaviour, literacy and numeracy, and play time.

These sheets can be used as handouts during parenting programs. For information on photocopying, republishing and using resource sheets in training, please read the Policy Guidelines.

'Why Play?' brochures

Why Play? is a series of brochures offering information to parents and caregivers on play and child development. The brochures cover age groups 0-6 months, 6-12 months, 1-2 years, 2-3 years, 3-4 years, and 4-5 years.
